I am a post graduate member of a workgroup in the department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Wuppertal. Our actual research focus is the development and investigation of atmospheric pressure (AP) ionization methods, like APLI (Atmospheric Pressure Laser Ionization), which are widely used in modern mass and ion mobility spectrometry.
My personal primary focus in the workgroup is the application of numerical methods like computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and ion trajectory simulations on the investigation of ion motion and ion transformation processes in AP ion sources and the pressure reduction stages of AP-mass spectrometers.
